Believing this was her calling in life, Niki has aligned her passion for singing, performing and writing with her purpose of raising awareness and starting a conversation about disordered eating and body image issues. A social issue that so many people find difficult to talk about.
Niki had battled and defeated an eating disorder for most of her life, which has inspired her to write and perform her one-woman show titled, ” Loving & Leaving ED “ (eating disorder).
A musical which tells a story of a young girl who struggled, battled, and finally defeated ED!
Ed was a relationship in her mind that touched on matters of bullying, low self-esteem and poor body image, and disordered eating. A show that has already helped almost everyone who has seen it, in one way or another.
Over the last 6 years, Niki has been invited to perform her shows at the Living Arts Centre, high schools, middle school and Churches across the GTA. Accompanied by the beautiful pianist/singer, Christina Melanie.
Niki has become a very well known advocate/performer supported greatly by local news papers as well as tv and radio stations for the past few years. She is now a proud supporter and facilitator of two local support groups, one lead by a proud partner, Recovery Coach; Rebecca Rechtorik.
Aside from musical endeavours, Niki is also a very well known Hair stylist.
She is currently working at the Life Spa, located inside Lifetime Fitness Mississauga.
Niki’s purpose as a stylist, musician, advocate, dedicated wife and mother has been devoted to the privilege of being able to help people feel great about who they are and the image they were created in!
It is truly her life’s work and it shows in everything she strives for.
